Gainsbourg to Front Debut Balenciaga Scent
Balenciaga has tapped the actress and singer-songwriter Charlotte Gainsbourg to be the face of its debut fragrance, slated to launch worldwide in February 2010.
Ms. Gainsbourg served as the muse and face of Balenciaga’s fall 2008 fashion campaign.
“Her unique sense of style and her graceful and intense talent have always been very inspirational for me,” said Nicolas Ghesquière, the brand’s creative director.
“Charlotte Gainsbourg, besides her close collaboration and friendship with Nicolas Ghesquière, truly embodies the unique Parisian chic of this new fragrance,” stated Catherine Walsh, senior vice president, marketing, American licenses, Coty Prestige—which holds the Balenciaga fragrance license.
